illness sets in- updated

Happy Birthday 12-year old! #1 son finally came home after being gone almost two months! We missed his smart, yet silly, personality! The next morning he got very ill, and even his birthday homemade Cinnamon rolls didn't taste good to him.:(
He was tested for the flu- thankfully, he just has a bad cold, and he's doing much better now. He was even singing to entertain his brother last night.

The rest of us are doing pretty well, but for some lingering mucus ( don't you love it?)

The surgery patients are doing well except for my friend's little girl that had open- heart surgery. She has contracted pnuemonia and two other infections, but they still have hope that she'll pull through.. ..prayer and more hope for the medicines to work.

Niko had been a little ill last week but was feeling better until... Tuesday night-- we all got sick. He has an ear infection, and Mea and I have a really bad cold (we think). It is awful. We can't sleep, and we're sooo tired. Niko just wants to be held all the time by his mommy. Mea was complaining and I said at least we're not like the pioneers.. we have food and medicine; we're not walking barefoot in the snow; we have kleenex, and bathrooms.
I have to admit, I was a little freaked out when we all got sick at the same time, because one of my co-workers has been coming to work with pneumonia..( he says he's not contagious). We also found out my friend's husband has the swine flu. btw, the symptoms of swine flu could be one of 3 thousand different things, and there are no treatments for infants under age 1.

It is also surgery week .. my mother-in-law gets surgery today ( I think outpatient), my niece had cleft palate surgery Tuesday, and a friend's daughter had open heart surgery also on Tuesday. So far, they are all doing well.

On a happier note, my nephew is back home from Afghanistan...
