Boston

Memories of our one-day trip to Boston:

~Whale watching while landing in windy weather. We weren't really whale-watching, but we were close enough to the water that if any were there we would have seen them. The airport borders the ocean.
~ Freezing wind.
~Eating Boston soups: Lobster Bisque, Clam chowder, Chicken pot pie, Butternut bisque ( my favorite).
~ Faneuil Hall shopping: hearing 80's heavy metal done by an Acapella Choir, unique comic book store; old brick buildings.
~ Harvard:traffic; fun Japanese shop with studio Ghibli stuff; seeing sculling teams practicing; Harvard book store. Campus is a shopping plaza.
~Isabella Stweart Gardner Museum: Amazing house, running with Niko through it; beautiful courtyard; empty frames from the missing paintings that were stolen in the 90's; carved wooden wall; rooms all a little too dark to preserve the collection.
~ Niko chasing Canada Geese.
~ Christopher and Dad's acorn fight. The acorns in the NE are huge!
~ Expensive Parking and no spaces, although we did find out that President Obama was also there the same day. No wonder the traffic was so bad on a Saturday.
