Movie review

These are some movies I have seen in the last few months. We do not have TV, but we have a netflix subscription, which we find even better, not to say there aren't still disappointments.

Some great movies:
~Persuasion (2007) British made film based on Jane Austen's book.
~The Illusionist- very intriguing movie
~Veer Zahra- Indian made movie ( expect some Bollywood scenes)- Love story
~Maxed Out- a quirkily filmed documentary about Banks and Credit Card companies ( enlightening)
~The Keeper- The Legend of Omar Khayam -a really interesting movie about a young boy in this century with flashbacks to a famous 11th century Persian poet

Fun movies:
~Evan Almighty- modern day Noah's ark- much better than the original previews made it look
~The Reduced Shakespeare Company- the Complete works of Shakespeare in an hour -comedy
~Strictly Ballroom- the highly strange environment of Australian ballroom dancing
~Brian Regan- Standing Up - a comedian that is funny without vulgarity or potty humor- imagine
~Clueless-I hadn't seen it in awhile and it is still funny. ( Modern-day Emma btw)

And ... the worst movies:
~Singles 2nd Ward- what was I even thinking renting it?
~Joshua- A bizarre modern day fable of Christ made by the Catholic church- It's nice to know we Mormon's aren't the only ones making bad films.
~The Prince and the Pauper- with Dylan and Cole Sprouse ala The Disney Channel who still can't act. My kids really wanted to watch this one- at least it was extremely mockable.

TV ( also available online)-two favorites:
~Deserving Design - He designs rooms in people's homes who need help or have done something to help their community. Realistic rooms ( he gets a lot of stuff from Ikea)- not extreme makeovers
~Ballykissangel- An English priest moves to a small Irish parish. Lots of fun characters.

Some suprising movies that were better than I expected:
~Iron Man and Indiana Jones- although the first one is much better.
